Welcome to the website of the Walter Stewart Clan. Here you will find information on the descendants of Walter Stewart, Sr. who settled in Laurens County, South Carolina in 1788. He had seven sons by two wives. In 1982, there were 6,280 known descendants and spouses in the family. The first Walter Stewart Family Reunion was held at New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn, South Carolina on October 17, 1907. We celebrated the 100th annual anniversary reunion in 2007 and every year the tradition continues. We meet on the 2nd weekend in August. Explore the website to find historic records, past and current newsletters, family photos, as well as information on the upcoming reunion.

News: Plans are underway for the 2018 Walter Stewart Reunion! For more information check out the 2018 Newsletter. This page will be updated with information about locations and hotels. Important events this year include a memorial portion of the WSC meeting on Sunday for the late Chief Charles who passed away earlier this year after thirty-four years as the head of the Walter Stewart Family. Additionally, we will be looking towards the future by reviewing updates to the family constution that reflect our current structure and practices. We hope you'll come join us! Note: The website copy of the newlestter has been edited to reflect that Saturday's Lunch is at 641 Laurens Road in Woodruff, not 541 as listed in the mailed copies.
